A dynamic physiotherapy service in the heart of Ireland.

Conveniently located in Tullamore, Co Offaly, we provide a rapidly accessible physiotherapy service for spinal and sport related injuries. Our aim is to resolve symptoms quickly as well as treating the underlying cause.

High-Performance Physiotherapist & Lecturer

Christian Coombs

Qualifications & registrations:
Christian holds Postgraduate qualifications in Injection Therapy from the Royal College of Surgeons, a Certificate in Clinical Physiotherapy from Curtin University, an MSc in Strength & Conditioning from St. Mary's University, London, a BSc in Chartered Physiotherapy from Cardiff Medical School, and a BSc (Hons) in Exercise Physiology from the University of South Wales.

Professional experience:
Christian is a highly experienced High-Performance Physiotherapist with an extensive background in sports rehabilitation, biomechanics and athletic performance. He is a lecturer at the Technological University of the Shannon on the BSc in Athletic Therapy & Rehabilitation programme, and a member of the Sport Ireland High-Performance Panel for Physiotherapy.

Sport experience:
He has held key leadership roles in elite sport, including Head of Medical for Offaly GAA (2023–Present), High-Performance Senior Physiotherapist with Sport Ireland, Strength & Conditioning Coach for Wales Paralympic Rugby Team 2026 and Head Physiotherapist for Westmeath Gaelic Football (2011–2015).

David Harrington

Qualifications & registrations:
David is an NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach and a Certified Athletic & Rehabilitation Therapist with over nine years of clinical experience.

Professional experience:
In the clinic, David has extensive experience addressing neck and back pain, dry needling/acupuncture and chronic conditions, working with individuals of all ages and abilities to ensure a safe, effective return to pain-free function and mobility.

Sport experience:
David has worked across rugby, hurling and Gaelic football, and currently with SSE Airtricity League side Athlone Town FC — providing care for Offaly inter-county players across all age grades in both senior football and hurling.

Aimee specialises in guiding athletes safely through return-to-play pathways, with expertise in spinal manual therapy, management of tendon pain, and shockwave therapy for persistent musculoskeletal conditions. With a passionate interest in Pilates, she integrates movement-based therapy to help patients restore balance, strength and mobility.

Aimee is certified in the use of VALD performance systems, including force deck technology, delivering objective strength diagnostics and structured return-to-performance testing.

Megan has built extensive clinical experience with both amateur and elite athletes, deepening her understanding of sports performance, injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Sport experience:
Alongside her physiotherapy career, Megan is an elite athlete representing Ireland's Sevens Rugby Team on the World Series circuit.

Eoin Corcoran

Qualifications & certifications:
Eoin is a Strength & Conditioning Instructor with the IUSCA and is VALD certified, assisting with the delivery, oversight and reporting of our advanced performance testing systems, including force plate testing and objective strength diagnostics.

Experience:
Eoin brings both professional expertise and valuable personal experience of the rehabilitation process. Having previously been a patient at the clinic himself following a significant injury, he understands first-hand the physical and psychological challenges athletes face during rehabilitation — allowing him to connect closely with patients from injury to full performance. At Offaly Physio & Performance Lab, Eoin supports injury rehabilitation, return-to-play preparation and athletic development through structured strength and conditioning programs.

Shane Carrington

Qualifications:
Shane holds an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology with Distinction from Staffordshire University, and lectures in sport and exercise psychology and the psychology of sports injuries and rehabilitation.

Sport experience:
Shane supports the Offaly GAA squads, focusing on optimising performance in competitive environments, and has supported the Athlone ladies soccer team with interventions for performing under pressure.

Shane has a keen interest in helping athletes perform under pressure, using evidence-based mental strategies to build confidence, focus and resilience — integrating psychological tools into the physical rehabilitation process so athletes return stronger, both physically and mentally.

Ellen McDermott

Qualifications:
Ellen holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance Nutrition and is completing a Master's degree, blending scientific expertise with elite sporting experience to help athletes and active individuals unlock their full potential.

Sport experience:
Ellen is an internationally competitive cyclist and national champion.

Her philosophy is clear: nutrition isn't just reactive — it's protective. From returning from injury to managing heavy training loads, Ellen designs strategies that go beyond the plate to support sustainable performance, working with everyone from recreational athletes rebuilding confidence after surgery to high-performance competitors chasing podium finishes.
